Accreditations & Warranties

We have our MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accreditation through our NIC EIC membership. The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) was introduced to help ensure good quality products and installations. By setting robust standards the industry can continue to develop with confidence.

We are also a member of the RECC (Renewable Energy Consumer Code) The aim of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code is to ensure that consumers wishing to install a small-scale heat or power generation unit for their homes have the necessary confidence and service standards so that they can make an informed choice.

About the consumer code

The Consumer Code links closely to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme installer and product certification scheme. Both of these are run by the Licensee, Gemserv, on behalf of Government. Any member of the Code member, including all those working on their behalf, are expected also to comply with these schemes, or if they sub-contract the work, to ensure that those that carry out the work on their behalf comply with these schemes.

RECC requires members to protect deposits, further advance payments and workmanship warranties.

Deposit And Workmanship Warranty Insurance (DAWWI)

DAWWI protects deposits in case The installation contractor ceases to trade before the goods are delivered to be installed. Of course this is unlikely to happen, but unfortunately it does from time to time. It also protects the written workmanship guarantee that we provide consumers when the installation is complete.

The DAWWI scheme is provided by Quality Assured National Warranties (QANW)

Deposit and Workmanship Warranty Insurance cover consists of two elements:

The first element is Installation Completion Insurance; Provides deposit payment protection for our customers for a 35 day period should we cease to trade within this period and are therefore unable to either install or supply and install the goods.

The second element is Workmanship Warranty Insurance; The term of the policy is 2 years and covers our customers for the policy period in the event we should cease to trade and therefore are unable to honour our written guarantee.
